A Sibling’s Oath

This is for my older sister, whom i care for very deeply. – William

My juvenile affections
Have all capsized in the deep
Savored, by the black water’s pull
Far, far from this present despair

This pilgrimage, forged at my own hands
From which I may never return
I shall remain a victim to its vicious current
Devoid of innocence
Scuttled, and left  to perish

And then the currents, threw off my frozen shackles
Undone by a shimmering Godsend
By kin,
Bound by the same flesh and blood
To the honored sibling
That salvaged my humble existence
I pledge my entirety
What I am
And what I strive to become

Thank you for the amazing poem. Bond of family is necessary. We need to have someone to stand with us in good and bad times.
