Hollow Stanzas

Image

Hollow stanzas
The carefully gilded verses
All that I am
All that I ever will be

Revisit peril
Revisit peril
All I can achieve
All that i will ever perceive

Rushed summaries of heartache
My words plummet like hailstones
Captive to a boiling current
All coming to pass, within my girth

Guilt ridden eyes
Prevail at dawn
Seizing my existence
And the precious lives amongst it

Revisit peril
Revisit peril
This spiraling madness is my only refuge

Revisit peril
Revisit peril
I am, its hardly humble keeper

(I was in the middle of a panic attack when i wrote this, so i apologize for it being so crappy. I had to get this out of my system.)

Its not crappy at all! I find the repeat of ‘revisit peril’ to be particularly powerful, a motif grounding the movement in the rest of the piece, a fast but somehow lurking fear so beautifully described. 🙂
