Mourning cellos
Sweep away devastation
Through Munich rubble
And Arnhem ruin
The artists remained
No matter how scathed
Unmoved by bullets
Falling bombs and mayhem
The heart and soul
Turn onward with vigor
To reap from the mind
And sooth their earth
Crafts live on
Some pried from frigid death
And given to the hands
Of angelic martyrdom
Their worlds
Their everything
Cast off the shackles of turmoil
And voyage for deliverance
Carefully molded, by foreseeing eyes
For out of the rage of billowing heartache
Spawns the beauty, lovingly restored
A gracious calm of fertile streets
Trembling black walls
Soot-clad and drained
The heart and soul
Shall fester on
Unfazed by thundering,deathly salvos
Untouched by the savagery
Of the brainwashed young
Foolishly wicked
And bereft of who they were
The heart and soul
Are to remain
Ever stagnant,through fury and hellfire
