I dare to withstand
The twinge and the strain
Of sloping misery
And the burdens I drag
For the worthwhile zenith
At the incline’s end
Beyond the scourge
Of rain and peril
Above brittle lands
That shed with ease
Where I dare to rest
These wavering eyes
Inching
Through the day
With a hefty ally
Solid and mute
Yet anchored to deceit
The onward push
Overwhelms my treads
In this game of give
And relent your all
