I am immune
To your sly wind
The cavalier way
You coast along
Deep flesh wounds
Are a long lost memory
A lost cause I’ve cast off
Far beyond the reach of my mind
Darling recollection
Now fumes of great deceit
The terrain I’ve staggered
Among drunken and swerving thoughts
Where slurred devotions once spilled
Pouring in buckets
Of shame and dismay
The unyielding
Torrents of self-loathing
In which I was bound
Loyal, timid, and meek
Farewell to affliction
So long to the binds of illness
Your timeless scourge
No longer lays claim to my flesh
