Mayhem Slips Away

Final

Nerves
Are swallowed
With constant agony

The searing quiver
That ripples
Through silent bones

Upon dormant skin
The affliction scales
Upward bound
Toward bustling concern

Nerves
Are frayed
By a shadow of worry

The beads of unrest
The quiet scorn of thirst

Havoc travels
Swift and unswerving
Claiming the wreckage
Of a lumbering fool

Frail bones wither
Cascading
Freely

The awaiting free fall
Into midnight’s refuge

Tremors calm
As mayhem slips away
A dwindling echo
A skeletal horror
