Tragedy’s Rude Clutch

Image

Frittered kindness
Could not salvage his hefty heart
Brimmed with the weight
Of eras long lost

He was far from the rescue
Of charitable deeds
With eyes, foul and lowly
Drained by the boil of remorse

Bound to the anchors
A revenger’s plight
Was the final sliver of heartache
Where he hopelessly flailed

Bidding farewell
To the glory of kin
Who coast ivory clouds
Beyond tragedy’s rude clutch

Turmoil dissolves
With ages of bounty
The treasures he’s pried
With each defiantly drawn breath

Until the bitter end
The callous
The inevitable
