Caffeine Monarchy

Image

Denial latches
To his motionless state
Lacking in urge
Depleted, low, and wretched

From time to time
He scours uncertain
For the hope that heaves
And plumes redemption

Recovery
Injects its scalding vigor
The villainous sludge
That courses undeterred

Caffeine courage
Is his friendly façade
A propelling falsehood
That reigns so brief

He muses among beasts
That bay in the dark
Brooding at a distance
Mournful
Riled and alone

Within his homely bends
Sullen halls yield nothing more
As he paces deranged
An untethered ghoul

A youth
Fated to yearning
For the far-fetched frame
That radiates on high

I sort of feel like Chancellor Palpatine when I say this, but: I shall follow your blog with great interest. I’m addicted to good poetry.
