Our Defiant Kinship

Image

We carry on
In spite
Of our withering radiance

Defiantly joyful
Before roads
That tragically diverge

Beyond the fork
We’ll propel onward
Feigning our wholeness
Never forced
To utter farewell

For we take root
In the soils of ages passed
Forever bound
By kinship
Against each transient morn
