The Snare of Daydreams

The Snare of Daydreams

From the forest floor
I was taken up
As a long sought prey

A stranded bounty
To be salvaged by dreams
Exhumed
From the grave of evergreens

Through their skeletal snares
I embarked unfazed
Frail, timid and ever-still

My world dissolved
In the thoughtless climb
For all was released
From a once
Defiant and youthful grasp
