I was
The bright-eyed fool
Hastily swept
Into the swill
Of cheap affection
When perfume reveries
Laid siege
To my vacant skull
And I basked
In delusion
Swindled
By the curse
Of swift elation
I was
The unswayed fool
Before the worried glow
In the eyes of precious kin
No truths were kept
As eagerness
Prevailed
Stocked
With young promise
And tragedy
Seething in wait
