In the Woods

In the Woods

Shadows
Lurked against the grey barks
A prowling menace
Unleashed
By an idle mind

Forever in wait
The boy swayed
Tussling in fear
At home, in the clutches
Of his raging concern

As the bustling world
Unsheathed
Truthfully spawned
From his bothered
And lonesome mind

Surely
There was no malice
Stalking fiends
Watchful
Of his foolishly
Planted treads

Surely
He was alone
Far-gone in his worry
Ensnared
By his murderous dreams

For all noises loom
With vicious want
In the treachery of solitude
In nature’s slithering deceit
