Someday I’ll Know

Someday I’ll Know

I’ve never crawled in Naples
In the frenzy of youth
With drunken resolve
From tavern to tavern

I’ve never been free to comb
Through the great pines of Maine
To its mist-cradled shores

I’ve never
Truly loved
With the reckless vigor
Of hell bound soldiers

I’ve never trespassed
Into the fear-ridden world
In this transient age
The most careless
And vengeful of times

Perhaps, someday
I’ll know
And reminisce
