You’ll know him
By his seemingly all-knowing glare
By his flaws and nicks
How he sways day to day
Barely clinging
You’ll know him
By the same worn garbs
All drab, conformed
To the faults of his frame
You know him
Just barely
By a feeble thread
Till he dissolves
Into a pool
Of his sheltered desires
You’ll know him in full
Once the earth’s ripped away
From beneath
His hope-harboring stride
