The universe lurks and lives
To derail my thoughts
Till everything rings hollow
And fumes of death

The world I once knew and loved
Grows meaningless and frail
As I am offered to the void

Racing thoughts soon blend
To a blur of color and sound
To a puree of thundering neon

Every shallow breath is a lie
Every river of sweat
All the agony and ecstasy is eternally lost

The universe
Is a shadowy beast in the night
That consumes every beautiful lie
I own and cherish

Till I awaken
In the comforting dawn
Within gravity’s affectionate bond
