A Crime of Neutrality

A Crime of Neutrality

Where am I amid the smoke?
As the firing lines blaze
Through this life and beyond

I have no place
No reason to march
For the ire of war
Or to sing, of its honor

I sing of mankind
Of its vast and colorful arrays
Of the beauty
Some claim to defend

Abhorring every banner
That consumes the many
And sustains so few
