Long Lost Greetings

Long Lost Greetings

Ekaaro (Good morning)
Ekaasan (Good afternoon)
Ka a ale (Good evening)
Odabo (Goodbye)

These few phrase, I heartily embrace
As a long lost son to his mother
Once oceans and eras apart

Ekaaro (Good morning)
Ekaasan (Good afternoon)
Ka a ale (Good evening)
Odabo (Goodbye)

Slowly, I strain to speak
As if,
For the very first time in my life

Ekaaro (Good morning)
Ekaasan (Good afternoon)
Ka a ale (Good evening)
Odabo (Goodbye)

Like practicing, piano scales
All through the night
The desk lamp, burns across the pages
That I tenderly scour

Ekaaro (Good morning)
Ekaasan (Good afternoon)
Ka a ale (Good evening)
Odabo (Goodbye)

I will find my rhythm and stride
The further I journey
Crawling the long path
Through to manhood, once more

Ekaaro (Good morning)
Ekaasan (Good afternoon)
Ka a ale (Good evening)
Odabo (Goodbye)
Repetition is key
