The Mortal Voyage

The Mortal Voyage

I’ve lost a scrap of myself
In a burst of light
Tearing, through the midnight sky

I hardly knew him
His charred wounds ripped open
And awash with the fatal jeers of the Atlantic

I’ve taken on an array of grief,
A furnace silenced
As I lose my grasp
Of this mortal voyage
