An Old Plague’s Fury

An Old Plague’s Fury

Feels like this age is a viper

Winding around

The strained effort of my lungs

Marooned to this place,

Sick and enraged

Sweeping out the embers

Of an old plague’s fury

Seems like we’re undone

Swallowed by the mire

Snarled in its reeds

Where we’ll be claimed by rust
