On this old and moldering ship
Storm waters swell,
Bottomless and dark
Blotting out its gilded blaze
–
A winter night’s fury
Sends us under in splinters
As the full moon’s hunger
Claws through the fatal breach
–
Among the broken driftwood
Demons struggle to float
Filled with yesterday’s gold
Sinking deeper into slumber
–
The night expands in the depth
Engulfing our mirage,
The luxurious glow
Of careless worlds long ago
