Aimless Days Under War Clouds

Aimless Days Under War Clouds

When skies were black and blue

I was chased by the wind

With fireflies in my stomach

And I burned brave and bright

Before the forest enveloped me

And those fearless years,

Before the seeds of worry

Were sown marrow deep

Too often

I pass through the distant light

Of that bygone life,

To be chased into the present

Where illusions reclaim me

Under shades of blue

As the war clouds deceitfully

Billow away
