I crave the long haul,
Across their forbidden ground
The frostbitten voyage,
Through their bleakest of winters
–
The truest road
To that safe place of falling
Is engraved in the caverns
Of my mist-shrouded skull
–
It’s a deadly haul
Over swathes of ice
An ill-fate I’ve chosen
Snow blind and chattering
–
But the surest road back
From that dreary delusion
Gets buried alive
By the wind and the snow
