A Light Seldom Seen

A Light Seldom Seen

I’m cradled by the light of another

In the cold pulse of dusk

A light I lock inside,

That launches me forward

Their heat is relentless

Glowing hotter with every step

As I follow the curves

Of freedom’s labyrinth

As I’m chased and chastised

Their heart beat is mine

As they’re shadowed by shame

My rage is their own

I am cradling their light

Their invincible beacon,

Always felt, seldom seen,

Slowly guiding me closer
