From Under the Motionless Dusk

From Under the Motionless Dusk

Kindling a weary flame

In the pit of my stomach

For the voyage across,

Reeling backwards through time

On the back of a wave

To a cluster of light,

Quieting the stars

With its siren song

Here I’ll wear out my welcome

Here I’ll overindulge,

Beached and oversweet

Rooted firm in the soil

Here I’ll be reignited

Flaring luminous and large

For my homeward haul

To the motionless dusk
