The symphonic soar
Has taken me in
To seduce and berate me
To swindle the thoughts I claim
Jewel encrusted reveries
Have welcomed my timid dismay
To fashion them into seething sorrow
The bane of my tussling, harrowing rest
A surreal haven
That I once adored
Has ground me to ash
To be frittered upon the hopeful
My defiant heartstrings
Are a cautionary tale
Urging the distraught to turn away
And confide in the warm certainty of home
