The periodic twinge
Paranoia is a strewn massacre
Festering savagely
Draining from my thoughts
To pool in the company
Of my gracious and idle years
Rife with dismay
The shards of panic shift
Aimlessly darting
Lacerating and toiling
Fertile notions decay
As the clarity of summer
Rolls off into the autumn mist
Stranding me with swerving footsteps
Meandering further
Into the cursed wild
Carnivorous nights ascend
To boil my bones in searing angst
An offering to the nocturnal haze
Ferocious, savage and unconstrained
Yet I muster the courage to breathe
Each breath venturing
Deeper down than the last
Despite each nightly swarm
Laden with the curse of endless stirring
