Wavering desolation
Wrecks the harmony I claim
As I meander ragged and hopelessly
Slowing to a desperate stagger
Far ago
Triumphant roads diminished
Casting my form
Into turmoil’s
Harrowing embrace
Frustration spills
Into scalding hot buckets
Pouring past the ratty cloths
That covet this battered frame
Within
My reckless travels
Epiphany defiantly stirs
A rogue heartbeat
Pulsating through the sand
Calling my bones
To the slow wane of dusk
What may transpire
Is the driving elixir
A cure
I’ve fervently craved
For far too long
