Alive is romance
Unburdened
By the outer world’s
Deathly
Drone and drum

To the offbeat verse
I remain
So stern and true
With hope renewed
Each casually, strolling day

Alive and bound
To faltering
Skin and bone

It faithfully sinks
Culled
By the reaper’s
Rolling, undertow
