Sunken Civility

Sunken Civility

Slowing down
In the aftermath, of her quivering voice
When I’ve carelessly strayed off course

Beyond the shambles of her words
I was called to the past
Where a fair life deferred, and devolved into madness

Where civility was sunk
Drowning
In the very tides we’d born
