Melting
In the froth and steam
When the door slams shut
To a dreary Monday,
To its frozen dead weight
–
With eyes closed and tired bones
The water conquers it all,
A furrowed brow
A clenched jaw
Slipping away with a sigh
–
A knot is loose and unwinds
In the boiling riptide,
Gracefully capsized
As its drains into memory
–
Sunk in warmth and rapture
While an ashen day bays,
The windows well up and fog
Leaving the wilderness to wonder
