Outside
The skin glimmers
With a proud, exuberant sheen
Yet the storm rages
From the marrows confines
Into the very core
Of my timid psyche
Ravaged memories plume
Clouding my slumber
With their untethered ghosts
On and on
I twist and writhe
Wincing through the scuffle
From half-truths spent
Outside
I hold firm to a tale
Expelled from my lungs
Far beyond recollection
